Shantou Waisha
Airport, a joint civil and military airport, was
built in 1956 and expanded in 1986 with national
grade 4D. The airside has a runway 2,500 meters
long and 45 meters wide and a taxiway 2,500 meters
long and 18 meters wide. It is able to accommodate
big and medium-sized passenger aircraft such as
Boeing 757 and MD 82. The terminal building covers
an area of 22,900 square meters with four boarding
bridges. The 72,000-square-meter apron can park
five Boeing 757s and seven Boeing 737s. Shantou
Airport has a passenger turnover capacity of 3
million. It has 14 domestic routes connecting
to more than 20 cities in the country and two
international routes. |
